Annual Hawk Bucks Fund

Horizons Hawk Bucks

What Is the Hawk Bucks Campaign?

Hawk Bucks is Horizons' annual fundraising campaign supporting the school's operating budget. It helps close the gap between State funding, the fees we pay to BVSD for services, and the true cost of the programs that make Horizons what it is.

Small class sizes, rich options for student interests, and individualized attention — including a paraprofessional in nearly every classroom — don't come free. Your support keeps Horizons able to offer an outstanding, progressive K-8 education for 21st-century learners.

Our Goal: If every Horizons family gave $375 per student, we'd more than meet our $100,000 goal for the 2026/2027 school year. Not every family can give the full amount — but everyone can give something, and some can give more. You can also help by asking friends, family, and your broader network to support our school.

Last Year's Impact: Together, our school community raised over $70,000 through Hawk Bucks and Colorado Gives. Combined with the Spring Auction and Gala, the ARTastic Holiday Market, and other efforts, we exceeded our total fundraising goal of $140,000. That support allowed our parent- and teacher-led Council to fund more than $200,000 in initiatives — including staff development, curriculum, sensory learning supplies, and the #BigKidsPlayToo playground and park project.

This Year's Goal: We need to match or exceed last year's total to sustain the Council's funding, develop our Nature Play spaces, and expand intentional learning environments across our campus.

Horizons gives more because we believe that's what our students, families, and community deserve. Compassion, conflict resolution, curiosity, connection, and critical thinking — we believe each is worth investing in. Will you join us?

Last Year, Together, We Did Something Wonderful
Thanks to the generosity of our school community, family, and friends, Horizons raised over $70,000 through Hawk Bucks/Colorado Gives alone—helping us surpass our $140,000 fundraising goal when combined with the Spring Auction and Gala, ARTastic Winter Market, and other efforts throughout the year.
That generosity made it possible for our parent- and teacher-led Council to fund over $200,000 in initiatives—supporting staff development, curriculum, sensory learning supplies, and our beloved #BigKidsPlayToo playground and park project.
