Kate Bachtel departed the meeting at 5:45pm.  

Public Comment

Public comments were received from: Peter Hegelbach, Cory Pavicich, Sarah Wise, Rachel Mentz, Mike Ashmore, Tia Whitehouse, Piper Mirriam, Lynn Pence, Adrienne Gauthier, and Allyson Desart.

 

Reports, Actions & Discussion

HOS Leave & Interim Leadership Update

The Board reviewed communication plans for notifying students and families of the head of school’s leave. Staff will communicate the situation calmly and directly.

Interim HOS Kristin Hauger reported feeling well-supported. Responsibilities have been identified and distributed. Key updates:

  • Charter financial negotiations are in progress, with three presentations to the BVSD Board scheduled beginning in early April.
  • CMAS exam coordination is the primary near-term focus; Stephanie is available to assist.
  • Kim and Tess are designated emergency head of school backups, consistent with district practice.
  • The Big Picture Team is meeting to identify school leadership priorities.

 

Executive Session

At 5:17 p.m., Board Chair Travis Lockhart moved to enter Executive Session pursuant to C.R.S. §24-6-402(4)(f) to discuss personnel matters related to the interim Head of School. The Board seconded the motion and approved by concordance and permitted Melissa Rossback and Kristin Hauger to attend.  The board ended the executive session at 5:55pm.

No Board action was taken.

The meeting adjourned at 5:58pm.
