Approval of Fund 11 Budget: Jasmine GBC, Mike Ashmore

  • The Fund 11 Budget approval is happening later than usual this year as we needed to wait for the state to provide PPR numbers.
  • Horizons COLA 2.3%, inflation is 2.5%, BVSD COLA is expected to be 2.3%
  • This budget lists greater revenue than previous years.  This is because we have higher enrollment, resulting in more PPR.  
  • CAP Construction fund is $69,501.  Some of this will be spent painting the building interior over the summer.
  • Our largest expenses are salaries and benefits.  Purchased services (that we must purchase from BVSD) are expected to increase.  
  • Discussion regarding variation in “total expenses” across the columns (e.g., FY 24 actuals, FY26 working budget, etc.). 
  • Discussion about Fund 11 Ending Fund Balance in the FY26 working budget: $583,886.
  • Some of the deficit shown in this budget reflects the playground construction.  This will actually be paid for from the Council Budget.  The transfer will need to happen before June 30, 2026.  Funds are held in the Council account because we earn interest on that money.
